Default NR Floatilla for the Halibut opener/ Who's in

A while back we had something going on a floatilla for the Newport Butt opener. Four days and a wake up till we head west. As it stands for now, we got a great ocean, hungry Halibut, and a 64 mile round trip run to make. The plan as of now is to hit the bar at daylight and convoy out to the killing grounds. On the way back in, we will drop gear for some deep water nookie and jig up some herring when we hit the bay. Afterwards, I am thinking about getting together for a photo shoot, brew or two, and maybe a good cigar.

Who's in
Northrivers, Alumawelds, Motion Marine, etc. are all invited. I am looking forward to the aluminum hatch that will be taking place 32 miles out in 600 feet of water. Let's Rock

TB, I’m going to be there but not until Thursday night (late). So your going straight to the ranch? I’m going to hit the pile first, and if things don’t pan out head to the ranch. I’m probably going to stay in my truck down at the dead end, stop by.

TB,
I am down for the opener, we are restoring the Dory now and should have it complete by the time the opener hits. Just a few more things to do. Hope to see you down there and have a brew.

T-Buster

I will be out there on the Halibut opener. I will be on the Whodini, leaving out of Newport. First Halibut trip for me. I will be amongst a bunch of x-commercial fisherman. I am anxious already. Can't wait

So far, So good

Look forward to chatting with you guys out there. Anyone up for a brew afterwards, I know a great little place on the water

Pete- I am going to skip the pile and head straight for the Ranch. I don't usually do any good at the pile until later on in the summer. We will stop on the way back for a nook or two.

SPAZZ,

Thanks a bunch for the generous offer! The only thing on earth that is keeping be from being there on Thursday is that my son has a play in school. They told me that his play will be over by around 8:30 and then we are off. I would take you up on that in a second but my wife and son are with me also. It’s not as bad as it sounds were set up ok. Thanks again.

TB,

I know what you mean but I just can’t not stop and give it a quick try. I would much rather get my fish at the pile if I can.

Ok boys and girls.... The forecast calls for 1 and 3 on Thursday  It don't get better than that off the Oregon coast very often.

What do you say Dipnet... You and Jerry ready to go out and break that boat in. We will run with you all the way out and back. If I remember correctly you have a 40 gallon tank? I burn 23 to 25 gallons with my 150, your 90 shouldn't burn but around 20. Your big sturgeon sticks and Penn 321 GT's will work just fine

Oh man

Chris I'm shootin for Friday but I will probably stay up here since it will only be a one-day trip instead of the two. Good luck out there guys and post some pics of the carnage!

Hey Chris the Estuary is opening up pretty quick. I am thinking if the ocean is nice doing a Halibut trip on Sunday then maybe coming back in and doing some sturg scouting!

Let the "Shock and Awe" commence!

Thanks for the invite Chris, but I think we'll be getting some "big blue" experience close in for the first few trips . Gotta get our sea legs under us so to speak!!
