Re: bigfoot??
I do what Roy said - shoot him dead and drag his ass back to town. That's why I don't think there is a bigfoot - someone would have shot one or found the remains by now...
There's a really good trial lawyer in my firm who adamantly believes in bigfoot - whenever I refer to him, I qualify him as the smartest man I know who believes in bigfoot...

Re: bigfoot??
My grandfather, John Beck, and his older brother Fred Beck (my great uncle), both then of Kelso, WA and now both deceased, were among the group of part-time goldminers who were supposedly attacked by several bigfoots (bigfeet?) on the east flank of MtStHelens back in 1924. This was the first publicized bigfoot event. Uncle Fred was a believer and wrote a small book about their experience. He went on to a checkered career as a logger and a faith healer. He thought the reason nobody ever brought in a dead bigfoot is that they are time travelers and can appear and disappear at will. I remember Grandpa John was embarassed  about the whole thing and would change the subject if asked about the "attack". I think they had a little too much torpedo juice and, if anything, saw a bear or elk. I personally have spent many days & nights in the MtStHelens area hunting, fishing and working for the big W's forestry dept. Never say anything resembling a sasquatch.

Re: bigfoot??
This is funny stuff Roy. When I asked you if you'd seen him in all of your years hunting, you seemed pretty sure that Bigfoot was a myth. But it looks like our conversation might have got you wondering, maybe even turned you into a believer? I hear they like apples, so next time you're out bow hunting elk, bring some apples and see if you can lure one in and blast him. Better yet, ask him if he's used up all of his college eligibility yet -- I bet old Dennis Erickson would like to line him up at fullback for the Beavs. I'd luck to see the Ducks try and tackle one of those big stinky ********
Hey guys, see if bigfoot lives in your neighborhood ....

Re: bigfoot??
I've seen dozens of bigfoots (bigfeet?). Every fall they appear in corn fields aroung my area. They are pretty dang good honker decoys if you ask me. Use a dozen in my spread when my buddy CJ goes with me. He can afford them. I got a boat payment.

Re: bigfoot??
Someone call Bill Monroe at the Oregonian, I hear he is a REAL expert on bigfoot sightings
Quote:
|
“The deafening screaming, choking, belching moan from the ridge was chilling.” he wrote. “The kind of scream that sends mothers scurrying to find their children. The kind of scream no cougar or bear could ever squeeze from their throat... unless it was their last. Piercing, echoing, guttural; a single, horrible high-pitched-yet-throaty, inhuman, unnatural creation of Steven Spielberg that makes your skin crawl.”

bigfoot??
You just spotted big foot, nobody else is around to confirm your story. You didnt get the camera out quick enough because you were in shock or filling your shorts up.  If you would have gotten a picture it would probably be grainy and nobody would believe it was real.
Now what do you do? Keep your mouth shut and keep it to yourself or call the news and become ridiculed as a whacko that sees things.
Any of you seen one of these elusive creatures?
I know if I saw one I would do all in my power to kill it and bring the body in for proof positive results that it was not a person in a suit. I would then be sponsoring hunting products that paid me the big bucks. Well at least that is what I think I would do. I wonder if the game checker would accept a bear tag on a big foot carcass?

Re: bigfoot??
I saw something for a split second that I could not explain while bow hunting the Idaho side of Hell's canyon in about 86'.
I told my wife when I met her in 94' and she thought I was nuts.
We went snowmobiling in the same area that winter and saw some very large foot prints. She still laughs at me but she will not go back to that area???
Who knows?
I think if they really were out there, Ted Nugent would have killed one by now!

Re: bigfoot??
So here's a thought, people get lost in the woods all of the time and can't be found. Now these are people dressed in bright colors and that WANT to be found. Now think of a well tuned forest animal, could it hide?
For the record, just as with aliens, I will believe it when it is lying dead in my front yard. Until then it is just a camp fire story. But that just may be my human ignorance...
By the way the Ted Nugent line was great
