Default Walker's Game Ear

I am considering purchasing a Walker's digital game ear. I have an el'cheapo listening device I purchased years ago and the static and sounds of one's own movement/etc resulted in my not even using it. I was wondering whether any of you use the Walker's game ear and what you might be willing to share about your experiences, etc. I have seen some of the infomercials . . . but, I'd like to hear from "real people" before I make this purchase. In your response, please let me know whether you use "Ear I," Ear II, or the "Digital." Thanks! Don

Well, I guess I'll bring this back up to the top and take one more run at it . . . .

Don I have used one for several years. I don't go out in the brush without it. There is a few things that I don't like about them. I have a hard time figuring out the direction sound is coming from, Im off around 20 degrees as a general rule and was once off 180, the off shoot to that is if I didn't have it I wouldn't have heard it in the first place. The other thing is I can't count the number of times that Iv'e lost it, set down on a log take it out and walk off. Iv'e allways came back and found it, I know I have a problem with walking off and leaving it but I still do it. I personally think that they are a good investement, and if I ever walk off and go back and don't find it Ill buy another.

Just reverse your elk bugle and hold it up to your ear. Be sure to remove the diaphragm though. If you hear the ocean, try holding it up to the other ear. If you still hear the ocean, buy the Walker's Game Ear.

You can also try this with a rolled up map or copy of the hunting regs. You can tell all your friends you are a traditionalist and avoid fringe technology.

Is it me or does the name 'Walker's Game Ear' sound like some kind of hunter's disease or affliction?

Thanks for the input, Lightline. BTW, are you using the original, the II or the new digital?
