How do they clip all those fins?

Just wondering about all the hatchery fish. Certainly they don't do it by hand?

Actually yes, it's by hand.

This group of volunteers at Wiskey Creek does 100,000 every year in about 5 or 6 hours.

Just a reminder, Fin clipping at Whiskey Creek next year will be Sat. April 8th, 2006. Remember we also have a free great big lunch. Always the secound week end in April.

We wanted to try it this year but it sounded like this gig is getting really popular and we didn't want to drive all the way from PDX just to find out that there wasn't enough room to participate. How was the crowd this year?

How come WC is the only volunteer clipping we ever here about? Do the rest not use them?

Hey WLW don't worry about not being able to help. Everbody gets a chance to help. My son and I did it this year. We were there for about 2 hrs. but only clppped for about an hour and then let others in. If you just clip and whisper, "bite MY hook in 4 years". I hope it works. If they all do it I will have a tremendous season in 4 years.
