Default Remington model 710

I was looking into purchasing a Remington model 710 in .30/06 as an inexpensive replacement to my old .30/06. Does any one have any experience with this gun or model?
Thanks for the input.

I looked at one the other day at BiMart (something like $370 in .270 Win). Looked solid and given it is only available in moderate calibers the light wieght stock shouldn't be that much of an issue. Let me know if you pick one up.

Looks good for the price.

I've heard a lot of negative stuff about them on www.huntamerica.com.

In the $400 price range, a Ruger is going to be hard to beat. Plus they come with scope rings.

Blacktail,

Thanks a bunch for the website, I think I will instead fork over the extra change for a model 70.
