Northside Hair tag

I've hunted the Northside unit for deer for 5 years and have done quite well. Has anybody ever hunted it for Elk? We do see a few elk while deer hunting but not to many. It took me 5 pts to get this tag and Im trying to get an advantage on things. Any ideas or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I've hunted Northside for the past 35 years, got my share of deer. As for elk there are a few on Hog Creek ( south side) and some north of Kenny Point, I run into them quite often ,But I wouldn't waist a hair tag in that area.

Try the area up out of Fox. My buddy had the tag a few years ago and they all shot bulls!

I and the rest of my party of 4 got hair tags for East Northside this year. Which side are you hunting and how big is your party?

There will be 3 of us. Never hunted it for Elk but have seen plenty of quality animals while deer hunting. We usually have no problem with the deer but come November im sure not will the Elk will go unless we have alot of snow and than it's usually not a problem. We usually hunt deer around Magone Lake,****** Butte and Jonas Mtn.

Ive heard rumours Lick Cr. holds a few elk also.
