Default coyotes coming to turkey calls

i was turkey hunting on they first of may this year and we got up on three or four toms one real humdinger and we set up calling and they wre coming in real nice and a coyote coame in and my dad could not see it and i was trying to signal to my dad that it was coming but he did not see it until it came up and around ten feet from me then cicled my dad and around my decoy nipped the tail of it and tried to take it but my dad jumped at it and it moved but did not want to leave us alone my dad chased it out and the turkeys flew up a tree but we could not get them down never got the turkey all just because of a little hungry coyote.

I had the same problem this morning. This coyote won't bother me on the next trip, a turkey load does a good job on them.

That sounds like a really cool experience.

I'm just getting nauseated thinking about trying to diagram that sentence you typed.

Same thing happened to me Friday. 3in. #4 shot @ 25yds took care of that yote. I think he would have attacked the deeks if the gun wouldn't have gone off. . Buckhunter (My hunting buddy made the shot)

A freind of mine called a cougar in to about 40 yards on saturday, when it finally saw him it spooked and crashed though the brush running away. thinking it was a good idea to move on, he got up to go and spotted a black bear also looking for a turkey dinner. be careful out there

About 4 years ago a buddy of mine called in a cougar to about 10 feet. Man, that must've been a scary experience.

*(Better edit, too well known)*, if you're reading this, I'm glad it was you and not me.

Schoenborn, if you're reading this, I'm glad it was you and not me.
First, where are you guys hunting that you're seeing all these cats and bears? I've hunted Oregon's public lands for 40+ years and have never seen a cat or a bear. I feel left out!

I know some Willamina Schoenborn's; any relation?

I'd like to know which Schoenborn that you are talking about
too? I thought that it was me for a minute since I did battle with a wounded bear last year but I don't know who
is making the post. I've also called in lots of yotes but
I've never called in a cat. I also had a fox come in to a turkey call as well. Some surprises are nice when you can make a story out of them, but I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone that couldn't keep their guts in check.

Steelhead22, your PM didn't make it through. Must have gotten caught in the backlash. Could you please re-send it?

Thanks.

We were moving around looking for a flock I knew was in the area and couldn't get a reply. Then heard that alarmed put-chirp. Next a coyote tops the ridge. We tried to call him in but I think he saw us moving.

He put the flock up in trees. Where they are easy to walk up on
