Dangerous boat operator.
I'm not even going to talk about it. I need to report someone who operated a four person Sea-Doo unsafely.
What is the link to report unsafe boaters? Link me up please.
Thanks BCF
P.S. What really hurt is when he called me "Mr. Dudley Do Right."

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
The marine patrol is a division on the sheriff's department and is dispatched by 911 ... it's an easy number to remember.

Keep in mind, that 911 is for emergencies only..... This doesn't sound like an emergency situation.

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
True, use the non-emergency number for the county you are in, if it is not an emergency.

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
Dangerous and unsafe boat operation may be a legit reason to use 911 depending on the situation. To report something after the fact, then use other number. By all means, if peoples lives are at risk, report it immediately.

Was it a yellow and white one? Last year I saw the same yellow and white SkiDoo operator endanger other boaters lives three times. This guy came screaming up the Willy doing in excess of 60mph through 50 or more anchored boats.
Did you get his numbers? Pictures?

The non-emergency number for Clackamas County S.O. is 655-8218 - they'll connect you with the marine deputies...

On a serious note: Earlier in the week I had to have a personal :shocked:conversation  with young man who thought it was funny to spray me as he skied by the other night. New MasterCraft, No tags, yellow and black.
Love the warm nights on the Willy

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
I dont get it.. if the boaters licences and boat tags are supposedto pay for marine patroll officers where are they?
i rarely see them on the river and when I do they are just flying around havin fun not even checking people, and I have never seen them pull anyone over for flying thru a congested area at full speed.
what is it they actually do besides fly aroundin nice sleds that the tax payers paid for?
every time we turn around someone wants to make us paymore money first a boates licence and now their talkin licence on all floating devices to fund more partoll officers but nothing ever changes. people still fly by smaller boats trying to troll and wake the poop out of them and dice in and out of boats in heavy congested areas. I thought the boaters licence test was supposed to teach the captains the rules and laws so they would obey them guess it isnt working and its just turned into another way to drain money from the tax payers.

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
Just because you teach somebody something doesn't mean that they are going to do it. It will only curb their ignorance in that area. There is no test for common sense.

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
This is what they do:
On July 11, 2004, at approximately 1255 hours, 10-year-old Veronica Tyrrell and her family and friends were boating at Lucky Peak Reservoir. Veronica had just climbed back into the boat after being pulled behind the boat on a “tube.” The tube and its tow rope were gathered up and placed in the rear of the boat with the tube setting on the rear bench seat next to Veronica. The driver of the boat, Veronica’s stepbrother Seth Huskinson, then drove away. As the boat picked up speed, the wind caught the tube sending it out of the boat. The rope, which was still attached to the boat, entangled Veronica and pulled her out of the boat. Veronica’s sister, Rachelle, saw Veronica being pulled out of the boat. Veronica still had her life vest on at the time and was pulled from the water.
Marine Deputy Brian Hippe was on a Sheriff’s patrol boat near the Deer Flat campsites when he was flagged down by another boat. The occupants of the boat were very hysterical as they told Hippe that one of their occupants had just fallen out of the boat and was injured. He saw a young girl, Veronica Tyrrell, sitting in the boat seat. She was bleeding from her nose and mouth, and he was told that she was having trouble breathing. Hippe had Veronica transferred onto the Ada County Sheriff’s Office boat. She was able to move to the Sheriff’s boat under her own strength with some assistance from her party. She sat on the floor and Hippe immediately transported her to the boat ramp at Barclay Bay. As he was transporting her to Barclay, he contacted Det. Dusseau via radio. Dusseau was already at the boat ramp, and Hippe requested that he radio dispatch for Life Flight. Hippe then saw that Veronica was lying on the floor unconscious.
Det. Dusseau met Hippe at the docks and assisted in securing the boat. Hippe noticed that Veronica was gasping for air. He checked for a pulse on her neck and wrist and could not feel one. At this time he noticed Veronica also had some marks and small cuts on neck. It appeared that the rope may have caught her around the neck. He opened Veronica’s airway and observed that she was still not getting air. Hippe then began CPR. After a few cycles of breaths and compressions, Det. Dusseau checked for a pulse and felt one on her left wrist. Veronica was in and out of consciousness while Hippe tended to her. Det. Dusseau ran back and forth up the hill to relay and update radio traffic as he was controlling the crowd and traffic. Each time Hippe performed CPR Veronica would regain pulse and shallow breaths. When he noticed the ambulance turning onto the road on the Dam, Veronica had begun to lose consciousness again. He maintained an open airway with the assistance of another citizen who offered to help. He also collected towels from other boaters to keep Veronica warm. Hippe again checked for breathing and a pulse and none was present and he began CPR for the third time.
The paramedics arrived and Hippe moved aside to allow room for them on the boat. He remained on the boat and assisted the Medics as needed until they carried Veronica to the awaiting Access Air Helicopter at the top of the boat ramp. Veronica was flown to St. Alphonsus Hospital and then was transported to St. Luke’s pediatric ICU.

Re: Dangerous boat operator.
The Marine Board violation report can be filled out on line. http://www.boatoregon.com/JavaChores/TipPage.htm
If the person operating the boat is placing others in danger, calling 911 is appropriate. If you are in a area where the Coast Guard has a station then you can also call them on channel 16 VHF.
