WHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I FINALLY DREW THE TROUT CREEK RIFLE BUCK TAG!!!!!!!!!
Been a long time comin'!!!!!!
Otherwise, I was fully denied as usual--but the Trout Creeks make up for it all.
Anybody else psyched about their draws?? How about stories of previous years draws?Lets hear about the ones we all dream about.

Oh yeah, XXXL (I resemble your moniker) and tailchaser (gettin' too old for that), I would sure love to help you locate bucks during bow season. It would be great scouting and excersize. I bowhunt as well, and would help as much as possible!

I was able to draw the muzzle loader hunt in Hepner for deer Buck or Doe and elk back to back weeks.
Last year was a big YE HAAAAA. I drew a Big horn sheep tag for the Dechutes. What a trip.
7/8 curl and 32 hours to pack out. Yes an all nighter. Good Luck and Good Hunting

Glad to hear someone drew something good. How many points did it take you?? I'm trying to jugle my weekends right now to try and find a time that would be good to go down there. I would at least like to make one trip there before the start of bowseason and pick up the Steens area as well while I'm there. I'm planning on hunting one of the two during labor day. I'm guessing late July or the fist weekend in August. I hate to leave the tuna grounds during that time, but ya just can't do everything in a weekend. I'll let you know though.

My first attempt at a draw and first elk hunt was the first time they let you hunt inside the Starkey Experimental forest about 12 years ago. I got a 4x4.
Three years ago a friend and I went for a Wyoming Antelope tag and got drawn the first time.it turns out that we had a 12% chance. It was a 15 1/2" pronghorn. Tried to draw every year since and no luck.

Congratulations on drawing the tag!!!! Thanks for the offer to help locate bucks. I also would like to make a road trip sometime before the season opens. Let's see what happens over the summer, maybe we can get this done.
No elk tag for me this year, so I guess it's spike only time. My hope is to do a "family" hunting trip with sons, son-in-law, nephews, brother in law, and assorted family members of the female persuasion who think they can stand the rigors (and grossness) of elk camp. Then a doe tag for Union County, where some years I can almost shoot one off the deck....mmmmm good eating, especially that fresh liver with bacon and onions.
