Default Yaquina bar report

2-4' swells, light winds, patchy fog, currently unrestricked.

But the jetty cam pretty much sums it up.

Another perspective is to look at the bridge. Uh...what bridge. Pretty soupy out there.

I was out on the bar this morning (0600) and it was foggy, but the sea conditions were fine. Swell about 2' with a couple of 4'ers coming across out at the YB Buoy. About a 13 second period on the larger swells. Right now (1127 the fog is burning off and you can see for about two miles. There are no restricitons on the bar and with the forecasted WX we expect none for the next two days (but as always, it is subject to change...). Its warm, water temps this am were 54, get out and have fun. Call the station for the current WX (541-265-5381). R

It is a little known fact that the fishing is better in the fog because the fish have to realy more heavily on their sense of smell. The only weather better for fishing is in the rain because the fish congregate under the boat to keep from getting wet...

GO FISHING or you can't catch fish. I think that is a law of the universe... fish don't bite hooks that aren't wet...

Me too!!!

Checking out the boat at lunchtime and I am surprised how fast those shad thawed out from last night in the boat. I forgot how bad they smell.
