Default elk farms

there is now confirmed cronic wasting disease in craig colorado on a elk farm. about 300 wild deer were entraped when they enclosed the 1800 acre ranch. now they are going to kill appox 1000 deer to see how far the problem has spread, this is additon to the 300 head of deer on the elk farm. this is a close kin disease to the mad cow problem in england. first time i have heard of it on the west side of the rocky's

Very bad news for sure... I think there were more infected elk in some town in southern Colorado...How is this stuff transmitted ?? What happens if you eat one ?
