Default 2-Years of Reflection

I looked at my sign-up date, and looky there, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, SELF!!!

I have to say my first two years on I fish have been great.

I met some very nice people, made a couple of life-long friends, had a dream fishing trip come true (see sig line), and I learned in two-years what may have taken twenty-years otherwise!!!

I realized when I joined this place that you all know way more than I do. So, it was kind of hard to figure out where I fit in, and how to contribute. After feeling fairly inadequate for a while, I found what seemed like a comfortable niche for myself. Try to help!!! If nothing else, I could find previous posts and link them for the new guys, so that the longer-term members don't have to repeat themselves. Help people find the answers they're looking for! I just figured, do what I can, when I can, as long as it's helpful!

I've been moderated twice. Once for saying to " snaggers", and the other for confusing a non-Ifish sponsor with a brand new Ifish sponsor. Water under the bridge, so to speak. Not too bad for two years and now, 1001+ posts!!!

Special thanks go out to Jen and the mods (tough job, no doubt).

I also wanted to give a special thanks to the Dogs for "being there", "selflessly helping others be safe", and sharing the "addiction". [Yah, really, thanks for the addiction . Now I gotta find a 12-step program. ]

It's my 2-year Ifish Anniversary and 1001 posts on the same day. It doesn't get better than this.

"Chromer" status at long last!

Thanks Ifish and Ifishers!!!!!

Boatdog,

Great post !

I think you really summarized most people's experience here. Your not the only one who was a little intimidated at first, and your definitely not the only one who has made some great freindships here either. I've been moderated a couple of times myself, each time delicately and polite.

Thanks for reminding me how much I appreciate this place.

BD - congrats, compadre'!!! I am proud to say that it was through Ifish that we met and I'm truly thankful that we have become such good friends over the last couple years. Believe me, you have more to offer than you think, my friend!! I owe you a huge thanks for my first taste of salt, for putting up with me in your boat (THUNK!), and for keeping me awake during those long drives to and from duck hunting in Clatskanie.

BD - you're a class act, man...I don't care what Skahorse says about you!

Now, I signed up here after you did and I've got 3x the posts you do....how does that work??? I wish I could say I've only been moderated twice....

BTW - who's bringing the chocolate wax covered slingshot ammo on Saturday??
