Default Storing brined herring

Being new to the trolling game how long will brined herring last in the fridge? I use a simple water and salt brine.

Use the right brine/cure and it will keep for months. One of the fish I caught this weeked was caught on a herring I cured last spring.

If the brine is strong, store it in the freezer between trips.
