Well, figured I needed to jump in here & let you all know I've so enjoyed the posts & conversations & the CG guys input. I guess the guys & gals are all referred to as "dogs", if not,I'm sure you'll all set me straight. Hubby & I just had our 1st year on the salt last summer-we bought the boat almost a year before, it had radar & colorgraph but we added a kicker w/TR1, VHF onboard w/portable @ homebase, Garmin GPS. We own a thunderjet sled (18ft)& a cabin in Depoe for last 5 years and had watched many times the in's & out's @ depoe but knew we would not do it until we were fully prepared. & the TJ was not the way to go. We bought a local Depoe boat-24 ft Sea Ray w/flybridge that had always lived inside, so now I feel real safe, as we just don't take any chances, and moored it at dock 3 in Depoe. Hubbys work does not allow nearly as much time to fish as we'd like, but at least we always like to be ready to go when conditions permit. Got easy limits of coho & chinook when we were able to get out--as dismal as the springer season seems to be-we are SOSO excited

to gain some more experience on the big blue!! Vacation has already been planned for 10 days this 1st of July. Have not had the opportunity for halibut or Tuna (OOHHH NNOOO!!) but I'm certain the time will come for that as well. We do literally spend most of our nonworking time fishing or getting ready to fish somewhere (or planning the trips or what the boats might need--you all know the drills!! I did have opportunity to meet a few guys @ the cleaning station one afternoon last July who had a great haul of tuna who introduced themselves as a bunch who got together thru ifish,at that time I certainly did not realize what a terrific resource this site was...sorry I did not find it sooner & that it took so long to get my intro out there.
