SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
OK, in another thread I started, I posted that we'd be meeting at Willamette park for weigh-in and BBQ. So far, I've gotten all negative feedback on this decision and no positive. So, I'm doing what it looks like I should have done in the first place. So here's the thing. We've whittled it down to two possible locations, so we'll run a poll here. To be fair, let's just go with majority wins.
If you are not participating in the challenge, please select option 4 and do not vote if you want to see the reslts. Remember folks, this is supposed to be for fun and not taken too seriously. Moreover, it's a chance to meet other Ifisher. Here we go......

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
It may be centrally located for some.. I and many others live in the other state across the river and some dont have the luxury of 2 lisenses... The team I was fishing with didnt make last years get together either guess its just gonna be where its gonna be.

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
Here are my thoughts
I'm not planning on the Columbia being open so that means majority will be fishing the Channel or the main Willamette.
If the Columbia closes you could meet at Sand Island but thats at the extreme end of where most will be fishing. It's like saying everyone come to Ore City. If the big river is closed Willamette Park or Cathedral Park would be in the middle of where the majority will be fishing. I voted for Willy Park.
If the Columbia stays open all this logic goes out the window but I'm not counting on it.

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
I think it's a good idea to pick a place that we can get to in an automobile. Last year we had to load the boat, drive, launch the boat, weigh-in, load the boat, drive ...
Willamette Park sounds OK.

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
If the CR is closed I would change my "Sand Island" vote to Willy Park... that dadgern Pearl always makes so much sense!

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
Buh Bump.
Still looking for more comments - looks like a slight majority favor Sand Island provided the Columbia stays open. If the CR closes, Willie Park may be an alternative.

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
OK, since the Columbia will be officially closed, this might have some effect on the decision here. For those who have not voted yet, please do so. We'll button this up and make a decision by Wednesday evening. Based on current poll results, posts and PMs, and all other factors considered, the preference is slightly leaning toward Willamette Park. No, this is not Florida! We're not going to be able to please everyone, but we want to make it as equitable for all.
Thanks!!

Re: SPRINGER! Challenge Poll
Bait boy,
Willamette park is easy to get to, it's right off of macadam ave. in the John's landing area of Portland.
Here's the mapquest location. The star on the map is the turn off from macadam. It's at the corner of Sw Macadam Ave & Sw Nebraska St.
Hope to see you there with some fishy's!
