Default My weekend adventure (W/Erica)

This weekend I was pretty much snowed in until the afternoon so I was unable to go fishing in the mornings but I of course had to do something macho right? So I decided to take my significant other to "Place to Shoot" to show her how to shoot a handgun. I grabbed a .45 ACP Glock and I got her a 9mm Glock which fit her hand better. Bought a box of rounds for each handgun and went at it. After we had both finished our boxes of ammo and went out to the car, she told me that this was the "best date she has ever gone on before" and that it "was the most fun she has had in a long time!". Well needless to say I was feeling pretty good...until...I happened to glance at her target!!! I then looked at my target! :depressed: She noticed what I was doing and then made sure that I saw the same thing she did. Yep, that is right folks...My girlfriend outshot me. I like to think of this as beginners luck, a fluke, anything but reality. She was good about it though. She was more proud of doing well then she was of kicking my tail.

So, honestly, someone out there please tell me that I am not alone! Someone tell me that this has happened to them, that there wife or girlfriend has outshot them before. Any example please!

- Coot

P.S.-Birdie...have a hayday but be gentle...lol

If I had known I coulda warned you. I hate that walk with the wife to the 100 yd target, it's the same thing as we approach the target...no...no...please noooo!...."Oh ,look honey how close my grouping is". GRRRRRRR "Oh, do you need more time to sight in?" GRRRRRRR. It was that running shot at a Whitetail in Montana at 150 yds into the chest and out the neck that did it. I switched to Bow.

My ex was CT all-guage skeet champ back in the 70's and she could kick my **** at the range. However, when we first bird-hunted together and a rooster left his tail feathers underneath her boot...whole different ballgame.

Coot! Why did you have tobring this topic up? About 17 years ago my wife and I went to sight in my deer rifle and do some plinking with a 22. To make a long story short. We get down to the last 2 shells and I had to open my mouth and say " Ok we both get one shot, and closest to the bull is the winner." Well we flip for first shot and I end up shooting first. My shot was approx. 1/4 inch from the bull. Feeling pretty good I hand her the 30:06 and she knocks the X out of the center. GRRRR. Never bet against a Woman!

physically, physiologically, and psycologically, women make better target s******* than men. lower blood pressure, slower pulse rate, who cares about the target etc. I knew a girl in high school who could throw her hip out far enough to rest her elbow on it and steady the front of her rifle. never even let someone talk you into a match with a girl, even a new shooter!

Coot22, I have both the GLOCK 21(.45ACP)and GLOCK 17(9MM),and I shoot better with the 17 then I do with the 21.Maybe because I've shot the 17 a lot more? Both great guns.

Really? the glock 17 9mm just didnt seem to fit my hand correctly (too short of a grip...) I just couldnt get it to feel right so i stuck with the .45...I dont doubt that the 9mm is probably a more accurate gun...especially at close range...but the princliple of my girlfriend outshooting me negated the fact of who was shooting what gun...lol

Coot22,I think you were shooting a GLOCK 19,it's a compact verson of the GLOCK 17, pre ban GLOCK 17'S held two more rounds than a 19. The GLOCK 21(.45ACP) and the GLOCK 17 (9MM) are the same size.

yeah, you are probably right. I cannot recall the numbers on the guns now but the handle on her gun was shorter than the grip on my .45 ACP.

By the way...birdie...read the post by Ms.Coot...specifically at the bottom

Hey all... Im sure you can guess who I am. I am both happy and sad to know that I am part of a trend... Its great to actually be able to "out do" Coot in at least one thing  , but he now knows not to worry.

A side note to Birdhunter: Need I mention the day I outfished you?
