Re: List you BIGGEST fish!
White Crappie, 15 inches, in Texas.
Didn't weight her. But it took a pound of hot grease to make her float.
Walleye, 24 inches, in Wisconsin.
He was also a floater.
Northern Pike, 36 inches in Wisconsin
Another floater.
Pacific Halibut, 45 inches at the Chicken Ranch off Oregon Coast. Also a floater.
According the lenght to weight tables, 45 lbs.
Having a scale when you catch a nice fish, optional.
Taste of eating a fish you caught, cleaned, and cooked.
Priceless

Re: List you BIGGEST fish!
Hi Patrick,
If you want some tips on warmwater fishing, the next meeting of the Oregon Bass and Panfish Club would be a good place to start. The meeting is on April 28 (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. The location is at the PGE service center located at 3700 S.E. 17th. That's between Powell and Holgate.
This month is "dry clinic" month. Some of our most expert club members will be giving tips on how to fish for various different warmwater species. Even very knowledgable bass, crappie, walleye, perch, and catfish anglers usually walk away more knowledgable.
I really believe you would enjoy yourself and learn something, also. Visitors are always welcome.

Re: List you BIGGEST fish!
I used to work at a golf course in reno Nevada and I caught some huge LM's...
Biggest LM's- 12lb 6oz. 10.4lb and 10.0...all out of the same pond!!! No Joke! I'll never forget picking it up and realizing that I could fit both my fists in this things mouth...with room to spare!
That 12.6er could have been a state record, but it was caught on private land and was not eligible...nor did we know at the time that it was a record...or care.
walleye-10lb from rye patch in nevada
sm- 0lb 0oz!
Carp- 18lbs
black crappie-2.2
cutthroat trout-12lb 6oz.
rainbow 24"
brown 23"
Chinook 61lb
coho 19.8
steelhead 18lb
The big LM was my favorite fish ever...

Re: List you BIGGEST fish!
Largemouth Bass: not actually weighed 5 lbs. Farm pond in Glendale OR
Black Crappie: 14 inches, 1lb. 14 oz. Same pond...
Salmon: 30 lb springer on the Columbia
Steelhead: 10 lbs?
Rainbow trout: 7lbs 6 oz.
Biggest fish story? This one will make all of ya laugh...I went on a late September fishing trip to the Snake river back in the early 80's. I had brought a couple of fishing rods expecting panfish, trout and bass...but didn't plan on the size of some of the catfish. We saw a number of nice cats in the 6-8 lb range being caught right down from Hellsgate one day so we visited a local store and I bought this Cardinal combo....a bit bigger than I had thinking I could land the bigger fish. Well, we were fishing off the dock where the mailboat takes off downriver and had caught a couple of smallish cats...2-3 lbs. We were using trout guts for bait. (Oh by the way this particular reel had the pop-off feature to replace the spool) I made a long cast out to the current waiting for the lead to hold when WHAM....downstream she goes...taking line steadily. I pull back and watch the line cutting through the water realizing this outfit isn't cutting it...I whoooped to my friend, and he came running over just in time to watch the spool suddenly pop off the reel....well, it did about two nice yo-yo's off the dock, ratnested into this beautiful tangle and slammed up against the first eye of the rod bringing all to a stop....except whatever thought it needed those trout guts, catfish, sturgeon, whatever....kept right on going, CRACK! End of story....I still have that reel in a box at my parents....I was so [potty mouth] I never used it again. Made for a nice story though!

Re: List your BIGGEST fish!
4 lb 12 oz Smallmouth from Palmer Lk., Okanogan Co., WA. Splitshotting a plastic BPS Crawdad. Also 4-8 last May from Palmer, and 4-9 some years ago from Lk. Washington.
6 lb. 0 oz Largemouth from Winchester Reservoir, near George, WA.
Don't normally fish for, or weigh, panfish, but caught a 1 lb 3 oz Crappie from Winchester Res. on a white spinnerbait.
The LM was a bit of a story. My boat was my Wenonah canoe, which was on top my 4Runner all summer. Late March, circa '90, we'd had a warm Winter and Spring, and I wanted to catch a big fish for our (WBC) monthly B.F. comp. I got up at 1am Sat. and drove over, slept until the sun woke me, slid the canoe in the water, and almost immediately caught this 6 lb bass. I was throwing a tube with a ball jighead stuffed inside, with a spinner attachment (like a "Beetlespin"), covering water on points. Got the fish in the boat, unhooked, and had it back in the water, before I remembered to take a pic and weigh it. I fished another couple of hours, the N. wind was picking up, getting colder, and I decided to head home. Loaded up and hit the road by 10am, home about 1:30pm. Wife couldn't understand why I was home so early, or why I left after just catching one fish. Duh! C&R, Steve
PS: The 6.0 LM was only good for 2nd place in the monthly BF deal.
