I usually hunt the Pine Creek unit and kill a bear out of there every year I go. You need to know your area though. Snake, Minam, Imnaha are all excellent too. SW Oregon is a much better hunt than most people think. Just have to know where to go.

Have hunted Chesnimnus unit twice, saw a total of 4 bears on both trips but could not pull off the sneak on them or passed because of their size. It was a great hunt with the scenery and lack of other hunters. Still lots of critters running around to watch, turkeys too. The wildflowers are really something to see over there around memorial day. Think I may try another unit or area though. Got my point last year so this year I'm going. Anybody got an opinion about the Keating unit for spring bear? The app deadline might be real close. Better go check my regs right now.... Feb 10 dead line to apply.

Default Spring bear hunts

What is a good spring bear hunt to apply for? Any suggestions.
