Default NR Commander and Trapper Owners help

I've started to have a problem while trailering my boat. I have the NR aluminum trailer and I've torn up the starboard side fender while trailering. Here's the deal: I back the boat down to load with the back part of the fender at water level. If I don't go this deep, I can't get the boat up to the stand by powering on(my strap is coming apart already by trying to crank it on).

The problem is at Clackamette, I've hooked the chine edge on the fender while trying to load. It's so low, I ride up on the fender if I'm not perfectly straight. I've broken off the screws holding the plastic to the fender.

Anyone else had this problem and come up with a solution?

Thanks,
KRoy

You could put the boat on in two parts. Back just down far enough to get the boat started. Load the boat, then back down a little more. Also, crank the boat on the rest of the way on level ground. Finally, make sure your bunks are wet if you aren't already before you try to load.

Or, find a more suitable ramp.

Do you have guides on your trailer?

No guides, here's what the fender looks like:

Here's what I need the way I drive:

I guess I better start making some at work.

There is no way I could load my boat in some of the rivers I fish without the guides. They are a must have.

Hi Kroy. Not a NR owner. Own a different 21' inboard jet. Last 2 trailers had guides on them. Without the guides we'd all have the same loading issues you're talking about. I'm not sure I could get the boat on the trailer "damage-free' without those guides, especially on some of the bigger, faster rivers I fish/run. Get the guides on, or (if you can swing it) get a trailer manufactured with guides. Good luck.
