Licensing System Experiencing Shut Downs
PORTLAND — The computerized licensing system to issue hunting and fishing licenses shut down Monday due to problems with a new
software program, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife said. Officials are working to get the system operational as soon as
possible.
Hunters who were successful for controlled elk hunts beginning Jan. 1, 2002 or for Sauvie Island duck hunts for Jan. 1, 2002 may obtain
hand-written hunting licenses and tags at an ODFW office that issues licensing documents. Locations include: Portland headquarters,
Bend, Central Point, Charleston, Clackamas, Corvallis, Hines, La Grande, Newport, Ontario, Roseburg, Salem, Sauvie Island,
Springfield and Tillamook.
Salmon, steelhead, or sturgeon anglers who do not have a 2002 license or 2002 harvest tag may purchase a one-day or three-day license
at the ODFW offices listed above to fish on New Year’s Day.
ODFW offices close at 5 p.m. and will not be open New Year’s Day.
