Default Duck Hunting Yaquina Bay ?

Mid coast experts,

Thinking about Newport just after the first of the year and want to have an option if the Siletz blows out. Anybody ever do any duck hunting on Yaquina Bay? If so, what area is best to concentrate on? Thanks!

Bit, your best bet would be King slough (Idaho point) you can launch a boat there for 3 or 4 bucks its strickly a tide hunt you need to time it to launch at a higher tide run straight across the slough from ramp and set dekes up and blind on opposite shore as the tide starts to run out the widgeon will work this area pretty good I have had some excellent hunting in years past here. one note though the tide will run you out of water to get back to ramp if you dont keep an eye on it.RJ
