I have got a few at Cape Meares to the south but, they were small and in poor condition. I have never dug Rockaway - it is worth a try. Watch for health closures!

Don't waste you time, razor clams of any significence occur North of Tillamook Head to the South jetty.

Razor Clams show up at many different beach's off the coast on some years but it is very sporatic. I dug a few clams once on the end of the spit at Cape lookout park. It all depends on the net litorial drift. I have never heard of any razor clams at either Rockaway or Manzinitta but that doesn't mean they are there. The only reliable beaches are the ones you hear about including South Beach.
We were at Gearhart the end of February and easily got a limit right near the south entrance to the beach. The clams were not huge, but respectable and tasted great.
UG, the question was are they at Rockaway Beach. I've gotten razors at Myers Creek south of Goldbeach, but I don't think that is what this guy wanted to hear. So I gave him his best and closest option for good digging.
