Default Cedar creek report?

Anyone hit the Sandy at cedar creek today? I'm thinking about giving it a try tommorow morning at 0-dark thirty. The flow is at 1500 cfs and should be fiarly easy to cross, but after my last near fall there, I think I am going to start donning a PFD when I cross, then just stuff it in my backback while I'm fishing.

Also, do you think that today's rains will muddy up the water up there? Because I know that area clears fairly fast after a storm.

I lost a nice looking winter, caught in the tailout, and leader + rock = lost fish...that was my last winter too...

The river looked like it was coloring up some more, maybe the rain is melting some snow, but the crossing was fine. Good Luck...seems like lower tailouts are the best bet...

Went there yesterday and it was crossable, but if it were any higher I would not have done it. I almost got stuck over there one time as the water rose about a foot while I was fishing. Lets just say the pucker factor was high on the way back and I dont cross anymore if there is any chance of it rising.I would definately check the river level before you go but my best guess is go somewhere else like dodge park cause with the rain forecasted it doesnt look good. Besides the fishing isnt that great yet anyway.

I like to use a stick and mark the water level. I place a stick in the ground at water level where I am fishing. If the water level goes up, it is time to go. I only do this when the river is at a level that is high already.
