Default Taxidermist

OK guys I'm not looking for a taxidermist I am looking for an artist. I have the most georgous pair of buffalo heads. This drake has more color than most wood ducks that I have seen.

Who do you guys recommend that is a true artist for birds and water fowl?

Thanks in advance.

Dan!

Just a thought. The sportsmen show is just around the corner and all the taxidermists are showing there best stuff. You would be able to pick exactly the type of setting you want and ask the taxidermist to reproduce it with your birds.

Hey dan, I see your from deer Island. I used to hunt out there about 15 years ago. We leased some land from a chicken farmer named Charlie. I cannot remember his last name. He stopped with the chicken business when the state police came one day and and said fighting them birds is illegal. He has been deceased now for several years. Thought he might be your neighbor.

CD,
My vote goes to Rick Kemper of Kemper's Taxidermy in Forest Grove. He did a woody drake for me last year that is awesome. I've seen others he's done and they are all nice. The thing I like about Rick is he will be honest and tell you if its worth mounting a bird or not. Stained birds are not something you are going to be happy with in the end. His phone number is 503-357-2304.

Give Cory Wright a call. He does great work... Like you said you want an artist well he is one. He's won many regional and national awards over the last few years.

Dan check out Dennis King (541) 899-7330 down in Jacksonville. He is one of the best in the state and has the molds to many of the trophies that are exhibited at the Sportsman's Expo. The quality is amazing and he is extremely artistic in the displays. While down in his shop in October, I was asking him specifically about waterfowl. He comment was as long as it was frozen quickly, you shouldn't have any issues with waiting to have it mounted.

My only comment is that he appears to be very busy and so if you are in a rush, you may want to look elsewhere. He will be at the Expo so swing by if you get the chance.
