Default River Hunting Etiquette

OK. I've got my dekes. I've got my boat with portable blind. I've got my dog and that stick thingy that shoots the little bb's at the birds. I haven't hunted in years and never hunted the river I'm headed to.

I'm launching on the Willamette south of Salem and looking for a place to setup. What should I NOT do to really tick off you other sportsmen?

Default Re: River Hunting Etiquette

I hope you looked the area over in the day light? If so you have a idea of the different spots to hunt. Head in when it's still dark and shine a bright light into the spot to make sure it's empty. If not move to next spot when you are setting up leave a light on to keep others out, a lot of loud talking helps also. If all spots are full wait untill daylight and look for a spot, maybe where you hear shooting and then set up, but not to close to other hunters.

Hope the info helps
