Default Boardman?!?!

Does nobody hunt out there any more? Or is no one talking? What's the word on the NWR?

I hunted McCormack yesterday and had a pretty good day. It's been spotty, though.
If you want Oregon waterfowl info, here's a good URL for ya:

Mojo, there were a ton of birds flying yesterday when we came through on our way home from Pheasant hunting. Couldnt beleive the number of Mallards over there. Geese and ducks filled the sky. We talked to a couple guys at the gas station in Boardmen that had been hunting geese at the Umatilla NWR and they ended up shooting a fair amount of ducks but no geese. So that is the best I can do for the ducks and geese over there. Pheasant hunting was great, wish I had made it over sooner. We shot 5 roosters and 5 quail in about a half day yesterday. Could have got our sixth rooster but figured we had enough birds after Chukar hunting on monday and shooting a few quail on tues also. Also flushed a whole group of turkeys, now that will get your attention when about 10-15 turkeys flush in the brush ahead of you.

Well Mojet actually I don't hunt out there anymore. I used to and I loved it. My fovorite stop was the potholes off tower road. I remember one day the ducks were comming in there so hard we were dodging them so we would not get hit. I do most of my hunting out on Sauvies Island now. Young kids kind of screwed up my hunting schedule so I have been staying close to town. They can't seem to be without there dad for to long.

We've got a res for next Wednesday (Hey Flathead you working that day?) and we wanted to see what the field situation was like. Don't know if we'll be able to make it up in time for a look-see.

Geese are #1 but I'll take a fat eastern grain fed mallard anytime! Looks like we'll be throwing the duck silos in too. Thanks Firedog!

Tilla it does end this weekend, the birds were concentrated in the thicker brush. They were really spooky also, a lot of birds were getting up way out. We did the best in some ditches right off the cut fields with water flowing in them also. The dogs didnt know what to think about the Turkeys. I tell you what that was a big surprise, those are some big birds and make a lot of noise when they take off. Good luck if you get out.

I wish I had the day off! I assume this is one of Skinball's reservations. I've got a sales meeting at the corp. offices wednesday AM. Send me a schedule of the other res hunts so I can put them on the vacation calander.

Looks like it could be a good goose hunt tommorrow and sunday. You know where I'll be.

By the way the river is over its banks today, flooding some pretty good looking fields. Looks like must of the junk has floated down river also.

FD- I guess pheasant hunting ends out east this weekend. Did you find that the birds were more concentrated in the remaining cover after the crops are harvested? Maybe I got one last trip left if the weather cooperates. I wonder what the dogs would think flushing those turkeys?
