Well today was a great day! I went hunting with my neighbor and his son. This was his sons first big game hunt. He drew a Trask Cow tag. Well, after a good breakfast at Alices we went on our hunt. It didn't take long to spot elk but they were on the wrong side of the river. It made for more adventure. Get in the drift boat and float down the river...beach the boat and then a short stalk. Nick made a perfect 100 yard uphill shot just behind the shoulder and through both lungs. The animal went down instantly from the 7mm load. Then the work began. Packing all down hill helped but they still had some heavy loads. Once the quaters were loaded into the boat they floated down to the take out and I was there to pick them up and go back to Alices for lunch. Believe me it was hard work watching them through the binocs coming down that hill.

Hopefuly some of the pictures I took of them floating down the river will come out good. If so I will post them.
