I took my dog out for a trip today, and she put up her first rooster of the year, and I finished the job. She did a better job on the retrieve and handoff than last weekend.

Anyway, we then headed to our private land spot and found that the Chehalis River had been kind enough to make a few new lakes on my duck property. It shouldbe prime in a few days after the river levels recede!

Hope you other hunters had a nice day. Well, I gotta go fry my first turkey. Maybe I'll try the same with the pheasant?
