Default Lewis & Clark NWR

I was wondering where the best launch is for hunting this area. I have access to boats ranging from a 14 skiff to a 21' open sled, to a 19.5 foot v-boat. Do you launch outside of Fern Hill on the John Day River, or Launch on the point outside of Brownsmead, or is there launches in Knappa or Stevenson that I am not aware of. Any help would be appreciated.

I have used both Aldredge Pt. and John Day. I think the Pt. is better as its a run either way
launch. If you launch from JD you will probably find the best hunting to the east toward Russian Island. I have really gotten drenched and had to bail a lot of water coming in in my 17 ft. The 21' sled would be my choice. They are shallow draft which could save you lots of time if you misjudge the tide. More stable because of bottom width. At the Pt. you have the ability to run in more protected water then JD. Just my thoughts.
