Default springers late?

Seems to be some disapointed ifisher's with the state of springer fishing this year, some feeling it is already a bust. Take a look at past 5 years of springers going over the Willamette Falls and it might make you feel better. The fish really don't arrive until late April so don't give up if you haven't boated one yet. Seems last year's average at this time was 17.5 angler trips per fish (this is the creel count in the Willamette). Don't give up, just get out and fish!

Ive got 3 keepers to the boat and seen a few caught so far. so slow? no I really dont think so its just early and with sturgeon pressure being light I know I starterd early on the springers. Springers dont usualy get hot and heavy till mid april so keep your fingers crossed for the main component to be right on time!!!

For what its worth I spend a fair amount of time on the water this time of year and we had our best fish to hours on the water ratio in early June last year.

This year, as cold as the Columbia had been running, lack of smelt, low water and flow the instincts just havn't kicked in to tell Mr. Springer to head up river.

Lots of time left

They're coming and when they do be ready .
