Default Speaking of clean barrels

The topic of barrel cleaning for MoJets .22
has me wondering if maybe you guys could help me with my shotguns(First Love). I have a pair of over-unders that for the life of me I haven't been able to keep clean. I have just gotten the second guns barrels back from Stan Baker who laped them out for me. Finally have both guns back in the shape I expect them to be in. These guns have had mostly trap loads thru them. I love to hunt with them now and then so I shoot bismuth factory loads and some handloads using the same shot. At $300 (up $100 from last time)I don't want to go through this anymore. I have shot these guns since the 70s and didn't have a problem until the last 5 or 6 years. I have bot a can of EEZOX to give it a try but I'm wondering if maybe something is going on that I don't know about. I don't know any active trap s******* anymore and the pigeon rings have gone underground or are nonexistant so they are not a source of info to me. Is their anyone on this board that has a quick way to get the plastic build-up out? It occurs the first few inches
past the forcing cones up into the polished part of the barrel.

uh...uh... well.. "mr. answer's" doesn't have an answer for this as he has the same problem you have.

I do know that when a semi's action get's "sticky" that a brass brush scrubbed in the chamber will clean the plastic residue out. I'm guessing that it would do the same for the leading edge of the choke.

Just a guess, bigshark.

I think one of the brass brushes would clean that area up. Normally they're for cleaning plastic residue out of the chamber on automatics.

That's interesting that you're getting plastic up that high in the barrel.

I had something "interesting" happening to me this last winter on my reloads. Some of the wad bases were "welding" to the inside of the cases. I changed wads to see if it would still happen. Also tried a different type of case.. never had it happen again... but with this one combination I had it happen about 6 times that I knew of.

You know.. there has to be some type of cleaner that would remove that residue.
Wonder if Shooter's Choice would do it?
