Default Decoy repair

Well what is the best way to repair those little holes that some how just appear in your decoys. Is there some sort of parisite or perhaps an ant that eats into them. The holes are about the size of #2 shot and the holes that they eat going out seems to be a bit bigger than the one going in. What has worked for you in the past.
Dan!

The best hole plug I have found yet is Shoe Goo. It adhears well to the plastic and drys clear so you dont have to repaint the dekes.
I have a few decoys that have been attacked by that same parisite and it appears to cause hardening of the air molicules in the decoy. I say this because most that have been attacked seem to rattle now.

Dan!,

If ya would remove the band on the decoy the overzealous hunter (that has yet to bag a tag) wouldn't blast your decoy to get one.

That's my prevention is better than repair solution...

I use silicon type clear caulking, it's flexible and weather resistant. As long as the spot is small the sheen won't be noticable.

Those would be the rare Mexican moracca ducks. Ditto on the shoe goo, or a clear, two part epoxy.

Dan, I use JB weld for small spot repairs.ShooGoo and other rubber type adhesives evntually peel off.Of course as was mentioned the best solution is to shoot em in the eyes not the feet.

Yeah,

I've somehow managed to get those little parasites every once and a while

I've used construction adhesive. Just put a good little glob over it, and fill the hole. You can paint over it too.
