Default Can I talk anyone into a chucker hunting trip?

I like to hunt chuckers, I guess I'm kind of sick that way and all of my close hunting buddys say that I can have that kind of hunting as we are getting past that big 40 they tell me we are to old for that kind a of abuse to our bodys. I wish I could say that my last chucker hunts have been fruitful but really it's been more of a hard , very hard hike! But as cabin fever will start to set in I always plan a trip. My wife thinks I forget about how much I complain after these great hunts and wonders why I put myself thru such fun???

We spell it CHUKAR here in Washington. This is the second time I have seen it spelled that way by someone from Oregon. Do you folks have a different way to spell it? I have seen regional differences from time to time, just wondering.

I am "guiding" my nephew to his first deer, a mule deer doe, in October. I have flushed many birds in this spot, but it was always before the regular season. I'll bring my dog as well. They look like they are in between the size of a ruffed grouse and a quail, with red legs and bars on their sides, right? Black markings on their heads near the eyes, as well.
