James Gleason 33rd Ave boat launch improvments?

Hi, I was jsut wondering if anyone had any info on this new project, I just heard that its going to be improved. While it is indeed somewhat close to my location, its not my favorite places to launch, its generally extremely windy and there is no protection from the wind.Its an Awesome places if your into Sailing. My favorite fishing spots are also several Miles away. I wish they would have first considered something near Kelly point or improvements to Cathedral Park.

Don't know what they're doing to the parking lot (the big addition on the west side), but they have to do something about the sand filling in the east side of the ramp. It pretty much makes that whole side of the ramp useless unless you've got a dinky little boat.

Looked to me like the parking was going to double from what I saw driving by yesterday. Looks like a good thing to me.

I was dinking around the Marine Board website the other day and saw that a ramp at Kelly Point is in their "Six Year Plan". There's also a ramp planned for what they call "Lower Multnomah Channel" but on their map it looks like the upper channel to me.

They're both tagged "medium" priority, and I guess at this point it's just for fund allocation purposes. Existing facilities get the highest priority. Cathedral is on the list for $868,000 as a high priority. The Gleason ramp is looking for a cool $3.1 mil.
