Default I-5 Lake Near Woodland

There is a nice little lake with some horses around it on the east side of I-5 right near Woodland, WA. Anyone know who owns that and have you ever fished it or know anyone that has? Can we bribe the owners? Looks sweet!

I have seen it and looked at it and though it has some really nice looking cover I don't think there is any deep water for the fish to use as a refuge that would lead me to believe that unless someone stocks in on a regular basis the fish in it , if any, would be small. Now if that lake had a good connection to the Columnia then i am sure Largemouth would use it as a high quality spawning area.. but there is also a gravel mine up on the hill and the runoff turns the little creek feeding it to mud so there might also be some water quality issues...

The water quality issue I'd be most concerned with is the result of all the weeds in the summer. Back in the midwest I've seen plenty of farm ponds that were way less than that lake, and they offer up 5# LM's freely. No access to the outside world at all. And no stocking program. Still, you could be right. Who knows!?

I do know of one person that got a 3 pound bass out of that mud hole. Hourseshoe lake has better bass fishing but I would still keep going north for the monster bass at SILVER LAKE. Silver is a funny lake, some times you can work hard for a two keeper day but then the next day you could fill the boat and have some real kicker bass to show for it. Do not give up on silver after a trip or two because the odds are starting to work in your favor. just remember the the bass at silver love wood and can be VERY shallow!

I don't have immediate plans for Silver or anywhere else in Washington. I'm mostly curious who owns that lake and if people have fished it. Thanks anyway for the Silver plug.
