Default Sept Goose

Just got back from a morning hunt for geese on the Columbia near Chinook Landings. Only killed one, but that was also the only goose I saw shot today. Come to think of it, mine were the only shots I heard today. Not that there weren't plenty of people out there. I saw about 5 different decoy spreads on the bank. Had to get the specs out on most of them. Not nearly as many live birds. Hot bluebird day that looked better for fishing than goose hunting. Should be back out tomorrow.

Get Bit and I went hunting in western Washington Co.. We got set up and had the birds come in 15 minutes before legal shooting hour. My dog (Rauly) to his credit did a great job of laying down and not moving. He wined a little, and you could see the look in his eyes saying DAD they are right in front of you 25 yards away!! Can't you see them?!! Shoot for Gods sake. Then he did the GI Joe belly crawl to Get Bit in his laydown blind 10 feet away and gave him the look, my dad must be blind they are right there shoot them!! He waited 15 minutes for legal shooting time and then we jumped them and MISSED. Was able to get on the calls and work them around for 1 pass at about 25 yards and Get Bit dumped 2 and saved the morning. One 11 pounder and one 9 pounder. Can't wait to go again.

Hi Tilla

Just trying to get a handle on the opener this morning. As best I can tell so far, it was a westside story. The club to the farthest north on the westside got 10, a couple of miles back south they got 9. Back of LR Road got 3. We didn't get a shot at our place nor did we see any birds. All the
shots we could hear came from the west. Was your group also on the westside?
