Default Today on the Cowlitz, Very few Smelt

Well it was a beautiful day on the river and I got my share of sun, Just a bit burnt...
As I suspected the fishing was very slow, we tried sand shrimp and smelt with no luck at all. I guess the smelt that I brought weren't very good after being re-froze a few times  I did get pooped on buy a saegull There were alot of seals and some seagulls but not very many. We worked the mouth from Gerhart to the columbia, every once in a while the seagulls would start flying and diving but for the most part it was pretty quiet. Yes I know there are smelt in the river, but I think it's pretty slim pickins.
I am going to give it a try in the morning, I think I will try around the carnival market and see what happens.
I hope everyone that comes up to try has some good sucess and enjoys there day.
Here are a few pic's of the water dog's and a few Gull's

This guy was very close to us

Cheers to all. Hope to see some of ya on the river.
