Sockeye, I dont know about the Rocky's although they did make my waders (swampstalkers). I personally like the Danner Grouse. There gore tex, non insulated with the airbob sole. Lightweight, waterproof, and quite just what the bowhunter ordered. I also have a pair of Vasques hiking boots that I like alot.

I had a pair of the Rocky Deerstalkers, lasted 4 years of hard hunting. I also have a pair of inexpensive ($99) Northlake goretex boots that I have had for 9 years. My Danner Acadia boots have lasted 8 years. They are all good boots, but I have gotten more wear out of other brands.

I usually bring at least two pairs of boots with me when hunting, sometimes three if I will be out for a number of days.

I have had several brands of boots, but I really like the danner boots. Having worked in the woods, I am a real fan of Corks, nothing like unlimited traction. I was quite surprised when I got my first pair of air bob soles on a pair of Danner boots. The air bobs have traction like corks and are much warmer in the snow.

I will probably never buy another pair of corks. I will buy more Danner boots in a walking sole (not heel boot) with the air bobs. The air bobs are far superior to vibram soles in my opinion. I like the boots with the sewn on sole, rather than the injected rubber soles which tend to come apart over time.

I personally will never buy anything than danner. I have had great luck with both my pair I use for hunting, as well as my wading boots. They seem to be a much lighter boot than other brands while at the same time lasting for many years.

Danners all the way. I have an eight year old pair kinda like the grouse. I'm sending them in after bow season to get new gortex booties since mine are leaking now. By far the best boots I've ever owned. I have hiked all over the NW and Canada with them. I thought I was going to have to retire them after this season, but Danner says they can recondition them (yippe, I don't have to break in another pair). I have a pair of of 600 grain insulated rockies for late season, which have held up well.

danners all the way, i not only hunt in mine but i wear them to work every day. I'm a surveyor so lots of walking both on the streets and a lot more in the woods. I have no complaints at all! Mine don't last as long as what other people have posted hear. I get about a year and a half out of them, but the last pair i bought were danner super rainforests (thicker leather). they've lasted a lot longer than the other rainforests (just over two years and still going strong) what normally does mine in is the bending down all the time, cracks the leather and eventually wears through no matter how much oil, boot grease you put on them. great boots and always keep my feet dry. I'll never buy any other pair.
