How about the Doves?

It seemed that the dove hunting this year was nothing but a social event. Went up to our usually spot in Maupin and the doves just were not there in any great numbers. We figured it would be great with the warm weather and no rain. Two days hunting with 6 guys only produced 15 or 20 birds. Maybe next year will be better.

Didn't hear much about any Dove hunting. Anybody try? I tried to get out Sat after chasing nooks on Sat but the rain had me napping by 4pm. Went out Sun evening and found 8 on Sauvie. I will try again this PM after work.

Saw lots of birds over the weekend, but the guys I was with wanted to chase antelope !! Had the Benelli with me and made sure I had all my proper HIP validation and everything.
Seemed like everywhere I went there was another speeding antelope and a dove perched perfectly still on a fence.Go Figure ?
