Default Rhodes Pond Cleanup Saturday 3/12

Just to let you know, we'll be cleaning the pond and getting the grounds ready for our volunteer chinook program.

Rhodes Pond is located on Hwy 22 near mile marker 6, six miles from Hebo.

Bring chest waders, large broom or scoop shovel.

We'll be starting between 8 and 9 am.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what this intails, are they cleaning the bottom of the ponds or the brush around them or what??? What are these ponds used for??

Is this a half day job, all day or a couple hours??

Also what is the Name and adress for donating money to the Nestucca broodstock and hatchery program?

Marty,
Sorry Man, I'm not gonna be able to make it this year. Wish I could, Cam and I had a lot of fun last time.

RustyOar,
Basically, what this entails is getting all of the sediment and sludge cleaned out from the bottom of the rearing pond. The outlet for the pond is a little higher than the level of the bottom so we just take brooms hoses and shovels and kind of push everything up to the outlet and then out. It's kinda fun and ya meet some good people and help a great fishery. I wish I could go again this year but unfortunately I have a large project at home that I have to get done before I get the new boat.
