Who is hunting where?
Where are you deer and elk hunting? Did anybody draw any of those hard to get tags?
I drew a fossil deer tag this year and will probably be purchasing a coastal general deer tag
I finally drew an Ochocco first season elk tag after several tries. I burnt all 3 preference points but have a tag I have wanted for a long time. I hung the bow up this year and I hope to throw some lead.

Re: Who is hunting where?
Eat your heart's out boy's, we have nine hair tags for the Murderers Creek unit for Elk. After applying for 5 years we finally struck paydirt. We rented the US Forest service cabin for 25 bucks a night. They furnish the wood, 4 burner propane stove with oven. Other misc. gear. Will be heading out on Oct 31 and return Nov 13. wATERDOG,i can tell you where there is some good deer hunting down around GrandRhonde if you are interested and have a few bucks to spare ha ha. Re: Who is hunting where?
General Bow for both deer and elk....as always. We hunt the Imnaha, Pine Creek, and
South Snake. We hunt WA Olympic Penn for late season deer to be with our boys.
My wife wants to spend a few days in Katherine Creek checking out old haunts.

Re: Who is hunting where?
I hunt with two other people and we drew all our tags this year.
E. Biggs Buck
E. Biggs Doe
Our elk tag is for eastern Oregon general season.
We hunt a private ranch over by Fossil which only allows so many people access so you have to apply for access permits with them. We drew all our access permits as well.
12,000 acres to hunt and they only allow 10 poeple for buck deer, 10 people for doe and only 4 poeple for elk and we got two of the elk permits which are for hair tags.
Should be fun this year, saw some trophy deer and elk last year while hunting only on the weekends. This year we are going for a week for buck deer and a week for elk, the doe hunts will be weekend shots (it should be like shooting fish in a barrel for the doe's).
Good luck everybody, I'm very excited if you couldn't tell.

Re: Who is hunting where?
High Desert Elk tag, so that mean the Steens. A little chukar and elk trip in November. Tag is good for one elk, so I'm bringing back meat one way or another.
General Western Buck this year. Struck out for Beattys Butte. Can't complain though, I was lucky last year. Drew High Cascade, Willamette antlerless (which is one deer) and the additonal Willamette deer tag. Filled all of them w/ bucks.

Re: Who is hunting where?
Fish Hunter, I dont know the exact boundrys. But it incorporates the area east of Sandy, starting at Multnomah falls and running south to just around Estacada. Includes the Squaw Mt. area also. A lot of private lands but a lot of elk also, we have permission for a couple places and the rest of the area we will hunt is Longview Fibre land. It is a little over two month hunt starting Jan 1. So looking forward to some elk meat

Re: Who is hunting where?
Sounds like a good tag, probably tough to draw. Best of luck bagging that cow.

Re: Who is hunting where?
Bowhunting Ft Rock/Silver Lake, saving up those points for the hard draws. Me and my daughter love bowhunting but the animals are much fatter during rifle season. Can't wait until she turns 12, best of all, she can't either!

Re: Who is hunting where?
I'll be over in eastern WA for archery deer and bear and cougar.
Any deer, buck or doe, within 20 yards better worry.
I'm using an old Black Hawk recurve, circa 1955+, since my compound broke on me 14 days ago and I haven't replaced it. They're real pricey these days.
Ducks and small game??? I'm an either side of the cascades hunter.

Re: Who is hunting where?
Roy
It looks like I am hunting for ducks and fish during the Elk hunt this year I got skunked again... no tags for me this year.
I got that nasty little card in the mail.
And one more thing the dairy farm that I have hunted for several years got the bright idea of leasing the land to a group after I have rid the farmer of those pesky geese during the fall when His winter wheat is starting to come up.
I guess all the years of bagging goose and duck limits showed the farmer that he might have other uses for his land.
The price of success...
