Default trip trade??

I will take anyone down the wilson or nestucca this winter in my drift boat for a duck hunting opportunity???

My decoys have three years worth of dust on them. I moved here from Idaho in 98' and do not know where to go? I hear about sauvies from a guy at work but I don't know how things work there. In Idaho you can still go knock on a farmers door and ask to hunt, and 99% of the time your on.

let me know

LH,
The Umatilla National Wildlife Refuge is another good place to go if a guy wants to drive a little. Its near Boardman.If you get on the USFWS website for Umatilla you can put in for a reservation hunt lottery for $3.
You must have this to them by Sept. 1 however.They allow you to put in for 10 dates and out of those you may get 1 or 2 thats a decent draw. I don't need a drift in Tillamook but wwee might be able to work something out. I have a lease in Western Wash County.We are only allowed 1 guest so send me an email and we can chat about it.

LocalHooker: Welcome to OR...I'm guessing that if your buddy is talking about Sauvies
you must be close to PDX. The public area on the island can be very good but the birds hit diff feeding areas every few days and you need to stay on top of where they are.
The best free hunting in northwest Or may be
the Lewis&Clark refuge down river before you get to Astoria. The lauch at Aldridge Pt, or the launch at John Day will put you in birds in short order. The islands from A Pt have lots of sloughs. Go on the mornings or afternoons of in-coming tides. The birds like to raft-up on Sand Island and its mud flats..its the no-hunting area of the refuge.
Because it out in open water the birds get blown off and the water is choppy..hence they head for the other islands and shelter......its at its very best when the Willamett Valley freezes up. You will of course need your boat.If you are not in the meto area there are many spots all along the
river systems.....Oregon is such a great place to live for guys who hunt and fish....It will take you a little time but you will find this place is as close to heaven as a guy can get while he's still kicken.
