It is realy sad to see the ducks being so depreased they resort to hanging themselves instead of flying south like the other happy little ducks. Mabey we can get them some sort of medical help. Set up a hot line or something.

( Jen, no disrespect to your lab. Bluewater.)

So nice when you can watch your dog's head instead of putting your face to the sky to see when birds are coming in!

chnookie, My dog can spot them long before I do most of the time. She is getting old now but can still see pretty good. So much fun to just watch her then try and spot the ones way out that she is looking at.

Left you a reply on Wild Talk too, ***. I really appreciate the thought, but it's not my birthday. I'm not sure who told you that, but I've still got a couple months to go. However, I do feel older every day, so I guess the basic thought is still valid!!

Firedog: My golden hasn't hunted in about 3 years now, but I used to love watching his face as ducks flew over. I can still get him to watch for them if I ask "Are those ducks?". He wasn't a real animal on retrieves, my buddies Chessie in the picture always beat him to singles, so he kind of gave up, but he was still great to hunt with. Absolutely loved it to death, and he didn't break and whine like the Chessie did! Mellow is good. He's getting up there now, but I still get the urge every fall. I should get him out. I remember walking around with him looking for cripples. I would tell him where to look, and he would ignore me and look somewhere else. Used to really **** me off, but he was always right! Finally learned to watch and listen to the dog. Then I moved and quit hunting ducks, go figure. Hunting or not, he's still a hell of a dog, best I ever had.
