Default Resume Services

I'm interested to know if any of you would have information or recommendations on where (in the Portland area) to go to have a resume designed. I am in Retail Management at a major grocery chain and it's seeming as though I've reached the top of the ladder with this company. It's been many years since I've needed a resume and I don't know what to expect in regards to the cost of having one designed or the details that should be taken by the person designing it. It's something I would prefer to "need" to have done only once and therefore want to absolute best job possible. Thanks for any input!

Before paying good money for a resume, check out the resume templates in Microsoft Word. They are excellent. There are also some great templates on the Microsoft Office Template Directory.

Or ask friends to see their resumes....see how they format them, what looks nice, what doesnt, etc. I'mn not a big fan of Word Templates...but worst case, you could probably Google up a lot of examples.

Give NOTUS a call and ask for Rhett. They are located in Lake Oswego near Stanfords. They do a great job customizing and making you look better than you really are

As many Resumes these companys get for an opening, I think the $100-$150 you pay for a professionally presented resume could make the difference between getting a interview or getting tossed in the NO pile.

I really appreciate everyone's input here! There is not a lot to go on in the telephone book so my husband suggested I post. I checked out the templates suggested and appreciate the offer for the software. I'm thinking $100 - $150 is a pretty good price to pay for customizing and "making me look better than I am"!!! Ideally I would like a resume that says "this is what I can do for you and this is what I need you to do for me"! Kinda' like magic!

Thanks again everyone --- back to work now!

If its me, I'd never spend any $$ on a resume service. Formatting is simple enough (less is more). From there is all about explaining what you did, mentioning why its significant, etc....its a sales pitch about yourself.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
