Default Are last year's "Need a Ride" threads too old?

What do you guys think about starting some new "Ride" lists, and maybe break it up a little. The list at the top of the page has something like 4600 hits and 127 replies, going all the way back to June '04. That makes it pretty hard to manage or even figure out who needs a ride and who doesn't. Not only that, but many of us with boats have made verbal commitments or promises in other threads and, well, it's getting kinda convoluted.

Should we start over? Break it out into Halibut, Tuna, Salmon, nearshore (Seal Rock, etc) or deep water, etc, etc, etc?

I know there's a real commitment among the 'Dogs to get folks out (and get 'em addicted) but I also know that some just slip through the cracks - sometimes because of work or ocean conditions, and sometimes because we just miss 'em.

Anybody got any thoughts on this?

Yes I am kinda knew to this and I love to fish and have never made it to tuna town but have done just about everything else in the north west. So to make a long story short maybe this would help me catch a ride

Well, I like to post when I have an open seat, so it doesn't make a lot of difference to me. But having a thread for each type of fishing makes good sense, especially since the other types of fishing will start before tuna season.

I think that many of the posts on the "need a ride" list since last years's tuna season ended were mostly for discussion purposes and to get to know folks a little. We all are missing the salt (gettin' out last weekend was great!) and the discussions have helped us keep our sanity or what little of it remains.

Well on my end It has worked to just post the open seats I have. Much easier than trying to call someone cold off the list. I hope to add a few more cherries to my boat this year. But those that call or pm me first have the ride. That is as long as I dont get any slackers and that has not happened yet!

I am on that list, and though I would still jump on an open seat to get the experience, I got a little taste last year, and got so addicted I bought a bigger boat! I hope to be asking for experienced TUNA! hunters fill open seats on my new boat to Cristen it with blood.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings to delete the thread.... I doubt if anyone looks at it much now anyway.

I know that my info has deffinitely changed with the generousity of all the salty dogs out there. I was able to get a lot of experience on many different boats!!

breakingit up would give opportunity to others who dont want to TUNA fish but for me it would just be cut and paste of a prepared statement into all of the threads. I am not just a Tunaholic

What about making A will trade this trip for that trip thread.
Theres gotta be some salty guys that cant make it into the rivers with their Ocean Liners
Example.
Will Trade a couple Springer Trips in Driftboat or Sled For a tuna or butt trip.
Just a thought.

Do you mean that it’s possible to go back?? Is there a support group for that??
