What do you think of the Hummingbird 565
I need some input on the Hummingbird 565 fish finder. I have had my eye on the Eagle Fishmark 480 but just received the Hummingbird as a gift. I am debating exchanging the Hummingbird for the Eagle but wanted to get some feedback. If the Eagle is not that much better than the Hummingbird I'll keep it and avoid the hassle of sending it back to Cabelas. The cost is identical so that is not an issue.

Can't remark on that specific model but I've had a 300 wideview for 8 years without any problems.

Return the Humminbird and get the Eagle Seafinder 480. The Seafinder has 500 watts rms and 4000 watts peak to peak.

Brian...search here: http://www.wmi.org/boards/electronics/index.html
With your new FF, you'll be like Joe Louis who said, "They can run, but they can't hide".

Re: What do you think of the Hummingbird 565
Brian,
I've owned humminbirds for years with mostly good success, but some problems. When you fish with me this weekend in the challenge, take a look at my
eagle sea finder, I think you'll like it. I really like the resolution and power, plus features.
See ya sat.,

Re: What do you think of the Hummingbird 565
I am looking forward to Saturday and checking out your FF.
Thanks for input guys! Green, does your Eagle have the 60 degree option? If so does it only function with the fish Id feature. I read thru the Hummingbird manual and the 60 degree option only functions when the Fish Id+ is active. I was trying to get away from the fish symbols, but the wide cone it important to me for kokanee fishing.

Fall,
GBS's finder was very cool. We actually watched the gator mosey across the screen and the bait disappeared - and voila - tip down! You'll see this weekend fellow nosehair plucker.

Re: What do you think of the Hummingbird 565
Just looking at the specs you have the better finder in yer hands.....
I cant speak to useability though.. the dual freq tdr and the 640 x320 and 2000 watts ptp look to be better than the eagle at 480x480 and 1500 watts ptp.
