Default kIDS & FISHING

My son has become very interested in fishing. Are there any kid's fishing clubs or beginner groups in the Portland area? We also heard of some type of fishing contest at Hagg Lake in March. Any thoughts?
Thank you

Welcome to the family . . You will not find a better bunch of helpful and friendly fishermen and fisherwomen than the group of I-FISH . NET people .The OREGON BASS AND PANFISH CLUB is the same as the I-FISH NET people .
We will help new people learn to fish . This is a warmwater club that fishes for all kinds of fish .This months meeting will be perfect for you and your kids to come to .This meeting we will giving out 44 awardes for last years lucky anglers . There will be 18-awards for exceptional length .We try to make these fun for the whole family . There will be 18- awards for the youth. In addition to the certificate of the annual fishing contest (thanks to a very generous donation from WANNABE ) we will have extra prizes to give out to our youth .A fun part of the evening is to find out what everyone used and how they were fishing to catch there fish .They tell everyone how they accomplished this when they get there award . There will all so be a recap of our contest winners for our different contests for the year .The winners will tell what they were using and how, they were fishing to win the contest we do not have secerets .All is shared after the contest are over .The rest of the year we will have guest speakers and activitys . We will have club camp outs and various activitys . We will have door prizes and raffles .Our annual campout at PRINEVILLE will be MAY 21-24 . We will have a potluck on Saturday . It is common to have 90- to 120 people show up .This will give you some background on why we like to be known as a family oriented club .The next meeting will :be FEFURARY 24-next Tuesday at PGE Service Center Auditorium at 7:30 PM .It is a good idea to get there at 7:00 PM .and get a free name tag .We encourage people to wear them so that they can know who they are talking to .Be sure and talk to people and let them know that you are a first time visitor , ask questions . If that person doesn’t have an answer for you find a board member . We will get an answer for you .My name is BERT HOFFMAN. Look me up and say hello I will have a name tag on .Hope to see you Tuesday .
Please feel free to post a story about yourself or a past fishing trip We enjoy reading storys from new members .
