Default Fishing on the Snake

My wife and I are going to spend our vacation this year somewhere on the Snake River . Was wondering if anyone can recommend any of the campsites located there such as Copperfield or Hells Canyon etc. We are going to be there for a week during last days of June and beginning of July . Any problem getting a campsite around that time of year and what kind of fishies are biting best then? We have been to Richland a couple times and had a blast, hope that its the same in this area of the Snake. Any info would be appreciated.

All of the Idaho Power campgrounds are nice. Not sure if they take reservations but a it's good idea if they do.Fishing should be good for most everything then.

Land Shark. The Bass will be biting at that time of year. Try using some top water baits early in the morning and again at dusk.

One time while fishing the Snake In June for Crappie I was using a multi colored bobber with a jig hanging about 7 feet under it. All of a sudden a bass came up and hit the bobber hard. Made it move 3 feet! I switched from crappie fishing and quickly put on the brightest most colorful topwater bait I could find. The action was hot and heavy for 30 minutes. Must of caught a dozen bass. Had a great time.

Hey , thanks for the info folks ! Shalom you had me going there for a moment as I do have downriggers on my boat and I was wondering "how did he know I might try using them ?" :laf:Bucket mouth , I will try that for bass . Last time we were there I trolled a bit of night crawler behind the boat targeting Bass and I caught more catfish then Bass! Some pretty nice sized ones too. Crappie Chaser I do believe you are right , the campgrounds are first come first serve , but I will try Woodhead first and see if it has anything open . Thanks again.

I am not an expert but I have owned enough boats to know that some boats catch fish better than others . I started doing research and started checking into electricity coming from a boat .There will be good or bad Electricity put into the water.I will have to back up and say all boats with a battery will put out good or bad currents into the water .Scotty dowriggers have a book out that explains it well . I have a friend that is very good with electricity . Luckiley he likes to catch fish too . He worked on both of our boats and had great succesy and improved our boats so that we started to catch a lot more fish .You will need to add zink . How much more will depend on an ohm meter .The commercial fishermen that long line in the ocean have sent a charge of electricity down there wire lines to attract and draw the fish to there boats . FISHERMEN MARINE is where I bough my book and that was a long time ago .I lent my book out so many times that I can’t remember you forgot to return it . Sorry that I have forgotten the title of it . I hope that this will help someone .I am not very good at typing and have spent about an hour trying to type this .Good luck .

I am sorry for this post This was supposed to be over on the other colum (WHY DO SOME PEOPLE AND SOME BOATS CATCH FISH) . IN ANSWER TO YOUR POST I stayed at WOODHEAD camping and it was great. I have all ways wanted to return , but a fishing club that i belong to allways goes to HEWETT PARK Woodhead has the cleanest restrooms and fish cleanest fish cleaning place that i have ever seen . Again i am sorry that this didn't get to the proper place .
It is located close to Copperfield . It is on the IDAHO side of the snake river on BROWNLEE RESERVOIR .
