Default Garibaldi 2-26-05--What a Day!!!!!!!!

Those of you who missed out on the opportunity to ride with "Big Liar" missed out on one sweet ride. Thanks to Thuan for the great company, patience, and irreverence for my seniority
Headed out @ 8:30 Am from Garibaldi, and proceded due south to the well known rockfish Mecca known as Three Arch Rocks.
4 dandy cabs, lings, and a bunch of Sebastes made a fine pile of fillet's!!
All in between 80'-120' just west of the Arches. White 6" Mr. Twister with 4 oz jig heads and shrimp flys just above did the trick for all. Lost our best lings (at least by the feel of 'em).
Pulled pots twice, and headed home with an excellent limit of crabs too!
Which leads me to my next, and last bit of advice. Always double check to make sure you have both your fishing license AND shellfish license in your posession when you fish AND crab.
This has been a public service announcement by WildHawg, and does not represent the opinions of ifish--or anyone else any of you may know.
Thank you,
Charlie--who will remember to check for both licenses next time.

No, 25 not including the OB braket... that bracket makes her feel bigger tho. You know its nice to have those salty, dry hands with the fish bites and pokes in them after a great day on the ocean... great feeling!

Yes it was a great day on Lake Pacifica.

We caught our limits of rock fish with 1 legal ling cod and 10 crab for the day. Went over to Cape Mears for the crab cooking and fish filleting and one of the neighbors told me that that area in front of Cape Mears beach has been hit REAL hard by the commercials lately (no wonder we didn't have any monsters)

Thanks to Keni I have a few new pictures of my boat.

For the first time over the bar for me in this boat things went very well. I did have a fuel problem, the valve that switches tanks wouldn't let fuel flow from the main tank. I was able to re-route the fuel line around the switch to keep the day alive.

C'mon guys! Just a typical February Day on the Pacific out of Tillamook Bay! Kudos's for CrazyFish for the flyby!

I headed to the coast to help some friends try and remedy an engine problem on Saturday, and we did a few laps around the bay, then outside to drop the pots.

Shane- Saw you coming in with that great boat of yours. Kind of hard to miss it.

CrazyFish- Thanks for the swingby on your way back from Three Arches. We were in the Grady White bobbing around waiting for our pots to finish soaking. I had my face glued to the camera, but I only got one shot of you running back to port. A true Salty Dog folks! CrazyFish was running north and I can only assume altered course to do a swingby to make sure we weren't in trouble. I had my face buried in the camera lens, or I would have given a mighty wave, but I was told Dave did. Awesome! The true spirit of the Salty Dogs! Only managed to snap one poor pic of you running home.

Oddly enough I did manage to sort out the engine issues, and we too had a fuel delivery problem on Dave's Grady. (After doing the backtrack with filter, plugs, oil reservoir, etc.) The portable tank I brought isolated the problem, but didn't provide enough fuel for us to run to 3 arches and back.

Regardless, it was an awesome day to be on Lake Pacifica. It was also nice to get another Grady Guy back on the water after half a day eliminating issues!

What a day on sat. Meet 5 cent, wildhawg and big liar at the dock before heading out. The big blue was a little rough
going out but layed right down. Had the pleasure of having
shad and crab on the boat with my son and me. Lost my main
radio right off the bat, I could send but not receive. Had to go to my back up hand held. But managed to get three limits of lings and variouse bass. Had to head home early for a boy scouting event. Look forward to going out again.

Ya it was nice meeting you guys at the boat ramp too. Unfortunately my brain is not wired for remembering names I'll remember your face, your phone number and your liscense plate number but not a name It was a great day out there... I had my radio scanning the salty dog channels but I didnt hear much chatter, I guess everyone was too busy reefing fish after fish off the bottom!
