If anyone is interested in perch fishing according to my fishing log now is the time to start. From past years I think they should be in prespawn about now because in March they are in full spawn. I mostly fish the lakes near Florence and I just play around with different depths. I'm going to give it a shot in the morning and left my fishing log at home. However, I think I'll start out on the bottom in 50-65 ft of water. If ya want a hint on which lake(s) to try drop me a line.
I've known the places and the time of year but these winter and pre-spring months are hard for me to get over to the coast. Someday though I hope to get in on this. Used to fish Siltcos at night in the spring...and it was a "oh my gosh" situation.

Its too bad that Hagg Lake is not open year around. There is a large perch population there. Costal lakes probably have larger fish than Hagg. It's just a bit too far to travel to wohink, sitlcoos and others for the perch. They are available in the Willamette River too.

Thank you for shareing them. When it has been

i enjoy looking at pictures of warm water fish
and the scenery.
Thanks for shareing and post some more. They looked like they were nice sized.

Joe, nice sized perch. Got the makings for a great fish fry.
Under the circumstances, I don't think I'd call 'em "warm water fish."

I dunno, the water steamed when you drilled a hole in the ice. Might qualify. All I know is when I reached in to grab one fish that threw the hook, it felt might cold to me! It was a great day. I may have to go back next weekend...
